Areas of interest: Implementation research, programmatic evaluations and reviews of malaria control interventions, with special focus on integration with maternal and child health programmes.

Jenny Hill is a public health epidemiologist with an MSc in Medical Parasitology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a PhD on the delivery, access and use of interventions to control malaria in pregnancy in sub-Saharan Africa from the University of Amsterdam. Between 1989 and 1995, she worked for UNICEF to develop community based malaria control programmes as part of broader child survival programmes in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, northern Namibia and Botswana. Since 1996, she has worked at LSTM, previously as Deputy Director of the DFID-funded Malaria Consortium. In 2004 she moved to the Malaria Epidemiology unit, led by Professor Feiko ter Kuile, to establish the Malaria in Pregnancy Consortium. Since its launch in 2007, she has been the Project Manager and a researcher, coordinating the Public Health Impact research theme.

Research

Research interests focus on strategies for optimizing the delivery of malaria control interventions which target vulnerable groups, in particular pregnant women and young children.
